SKYUP FUTSAL IN KYIV

A solid hardwood sports floor from Junckers has been installed at SkyUp Futsal's training facility in Kyiv, Ukraine, providing a professional playing surface for the ambitious futsal club.

The project called for a high-performance sports floor that could be installed within a limited budget while accommodating the technical requirements of the existing sports hall. Working with local installation partner Kontraktstroy Ukraine, a solution was developed using Junckers' Clip System, allowing the new floor to be installed directly over the existing timber flooring without the need for removal.

A practical solution for an existing sports hall

The new floor comprises Junckers SylvaSport Maple Club, a solid hardwood sports flooring product with the natural colour variation and character of maple. The flooring was chosen as an alternative to traditional beech, combining the appearance of solid hardwood with the performance required for indoor sport.

Junckers' Clip System uses strong metal clips to connect the floorboards, creating a floating floor construction. Installed over a 15 mm Junckers SportFoam underlay, the system enabled the installation team to retain the existing timber subfloor, reducing the amount of preparatory work and helping to keep installation time and costs under control.

The sports flooring system complies with European standard EN 14904 for indoor sports surfaces, providing a suitable playing surface for the demands of futsal.

A distinctive finish for SkyUp Futsal

To complete the installation, aluminium edge profiles were fitted around the perimeter of the court to protect the exposed edges of the hardwood flooring.

The court was finished with durable specialist sports floor paint, incorporating markings around the penalty areas, centre circle and perimeter. SkyUp Futsal's club logo was also integrated into the floor design, giving the facility a distinctive identity.

The completed project demonstrates how Junckers' solid hardwood sports flooring can be used to upgrade an existing sports facility without removing the original floor construction. The result is a professional futsal court that combines technical performance with the natural appearance of maple.
