Arena Botevgrad

A Junckers Pro Complete 44 sports floor gets a new lease of life at Arena Botevgrad in Bulgaria.

From international basketball in Berlin to the home court of Bulgaria's national champions, a Junckers hardwood sports floor has embarked on a new chapter.

Originally used at the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 at Uber Arena in Berlin, the Junckers Pro Complete 44 portable sports floor has found a new home at Arena Botevgrad in Bulgaria, where it has been refurbished for continued use at the highest level of basketball.

From Berlin to Botevgrad

In September 2026, Berlin welcomed the world's leading women's basketball teams for the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup. Junckers supplied hardwood sports floors for the prestigious international tournament, providing a professional playing surface for some of the sport's biggest stars.

Following the tournament, the Pro Complete 44 floor was relocated to Arena Botevgrad, home of BC Balkan Botevgrad, the reigning Bulgarian basketball champions.

Opened in 2014, Arena Botevgrad is a modern multi-purpose venue with seating for approximately 3,500 spectators. The arena hosts national and international basketball competitions, as well as other sporting and cultural events.

A new look for a new chapter

To prepare the floor for its new surroundings, local flooring specialist Peter Atanassov of ProGame carefully sanded and refinished the solid hardwood surface.

The refurbishment has given the court a striking new identity, combining the natural beauty of hardwood with contrasting dark green playing areas, court markings and sponsor graphics.

The result is a distinctive basketball court that complements the arena's green seating and provides a fitting home for one of Bulgaria's most successful basketball teams.

A floor designed for more than one tournament

The project highlights one of the key advantages of Junckers solid hardwood sports flooring: its ability to deliver long-term performance through reuse and renovation.

Junckers Pro Complete 44 is a portable sports flooring system designed for professional basketball and other high-level sporting events. Its modular construction allows the floor to be dismantled, transported and reassembled at different venues.

Unlike flooring solutions that need to be replaced when the surface becomes worn, Junckers solid hardwood can be sanded and refinished multiple times, helping to extend the floor's service life.

By giving an existing tournament floor a new purpose, the Arena Botevgrad project demonstrates how high-performance sports flooring can continue to deliver value long after the final whistle.

From the international stage in Berlin to championship basketball in Bulgaria, the Junckers floor is ready for its next chapter.
